Work on something
that actually matters.

PollutionProfile is building the environmental health layer people never had — and we're looking for people who want in.

PollutionProfile is an environmental health app that shows people their lifetime pollution exposure — where they lived, what they breathed, what they may have absorbed — all in one place. Built by an environmental health PhD. In open beta and growing fast.

We have two paid summer internships open this year. One application covers both — just tell us which role fits you best.

Open to undergrads, grad students, and recent graduates.

Research & Community Outreach Intern

Find the people who need to hear about PollutionProfile — and help us reach them authentically.

You'll help identify and research the advocates, educators, and community voices we want to reach — people in clean living, environmental justice, wellness, and public health who would love PollutionProfile and help spread the word.

This isn't a cold-call-list internship. You'll be doing real research: understanding who someone is, what they care about, and how PollutionProfile fits their world before we ever reach out. You'll build a pipeline of aligned advocates and organizations, help craft personalized outreach that feels genuine, and identify university programs, listservs, and networks where we should be present.

Great fit if you have

  • Background in public health, environmental science, or communications
  • Strong research instincts and attention to detail
  • Genuine care about environmental health — enough to talk about it naturally
  • Comfort working independently and building systems from scratch

One application form covers both roles.

Communications & Content Intern

Translate rigorous environmental health science into content people actually want to read.

The science behind PollutionProfile is rigorous. Making it feel accessible to people who care about their health but aren't reading EPA reports — that's this role.

You'll help translate complex environmental health concepts into content that resonates with clean living, wellness, and environmental advocacy communities. That means writing social posts, captions, and newsletter copy that don't dumb things down, drafting blog posts and explainers on air quality, cumulative exposure, and environmental justice, and working directly with the founder to shape how we tell this story.

Great fit if you have

  • Strong writer who can shift between informative and conversational
  • Genuine interest in environmental or public health communication
  • Bonus: experience with Instagram, LinkedIn, Substack, or science communication
  • Ability to make complex ideas feel clear — not simplified

One application form covers both roles.
